Faith Lutheran Church Endowment

A Legacy of Faith

You can provide a legacy of generosity to benefit the church’s ministry far beyond your lifetime. With thoughtful planning now, your gift can be a legacy of faith for generations to come.

The Faith Lutheran Church Endowment Fund expands the reach of Faith Lutheran Church as we participate in the mission of Jesus Christ. These funds allow the congregation to reach beyond the annual mission spending plan for daily ministries and fund special projects that support Faith’s mission to grow, proclaim and live the Faith.

How Gifts Are Used

Annual distributions are recommended by the Endowment Committee and are approved by the Congregational Council to:

  • support ministries, facility needs, and debt reduction of Faith Lutheran Church

  • provide scholarships for Faith Lutheran members attending ELCA colleges, universities, and seminaries

  • support local service agencies that align with the mission of the church

  • enhance the work of the Southeastern Iowa Synod and Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA)

Make-A-Will Month

Leaving a Legacy of Faith

August is National Make-A-Will Month, a reminder that preparing a will is one of the most meaningful ways we can care for those we love. It provides clarity for our families while offering an opportunity to reflect on the legacy we hope to leave behind.

For Christians, estate planning is also an act of stewardship. The gifts God has entrusted to us can continue to support God’s work long into the future. Many members of Faith Lutheran have chosen to include a charitable gift in their estate plans, allowing their faith to continue making a difference for generations to come.

One way to do this is through the Faith Lutheran Church Endowment Fund. The Endowment Fund expands the reach of Faith Lutheran Church as we participate in the mission of Jesus Christ. Endowment gifts provide lasting support for ministries beyond our annual spending plan, helping the congregation grow, proclaim, and live the faith in new and meaningful ways.

A legacy gift doesn’t have to be large. Whether it is a percentage of your estate or a specific dollar amount, every gift becomes part of a lasting witness to Christ’s love and the future ministry of Faith Lutheran.

If you already have a will, consider reviewing it this month. If you have not yet created one, Make-A-Will Month is an excellent time to begin. If you would like to learn more about including Faith Lutheran Church or the Endowment Fund in your estate plans, please contact Pastor Carlson or a member of the Endowment Committee. All conversations are confidential and carry no obligation.
