Vacation Bible School

June 9 - 12

Children from Faith Lutheran and St. John’s Lutheran are teaming up for the week of VBS under the theme of “Tree of Healing.” Throughout the week kids will learn how they can love and serve their neighbor through ELCA World Hunger. Participants will learn more about the stories and service through crafts, games, songs, and simulations.

The morning session for Pre-K and kids entering Kindergarten is Monday - Wednesday from 9:30 am - 11:30 am. The evening session will be for students in PreK- 6th graders on Monday - Wednesday from 5:30pm -8:00pm.

Children who attend both sessions are invited to the kick-off celebration Sunday, June 9th from 5:30pm-8:00pm. The kick-off celebration is where kids will be introduced to the theme for the week, get to know the other kids in their groups, and receive a brief introduction to the rotations. A reception with snacks and beverages will follow.

  • ELCA World Hunger is a ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America committed to pursuing a world of justice where all are fed.

“As a ministry of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, we believe hunger is ultimately the result of broken relationships with God, with each other, and with the planet. Through ELCA World Hunger, we live out our baptismal call, restoring and reconciling communities at home and abroad. We know hunger is a challenge we can overcome, and with generous, loving hands we work for a world in which all are fed.

Working through Lutheran churches around the world, our congregations in the United States and other partners, ELCA World Hunger is uniquely positioned to reach communities in need. We start by listening to our neighbors and learning how we can partner with them as they work to break the cycle of hunger and poverty” – From ELCA World Hunger Facebook Page

At Faith, children are taught different ways they can love and serve their neighbors, and working with ELCA World Hunger is one way to do that. ELCA World Hunger helps people all around the world. At VBS children will learn there are so many different ways to do God’s work in the world.
