Children and Youth Music Opportunities

  • We offer through our Wednesday evening programming the Alleluia Choir for kids k-1st grade. The priority for this ensemble is introduce our youngest musicians to the wonderful world of musical skills through learning to read notes and rhythms through the use of hand chimes and learning about the voice. This ensemble regularly shares their musical talent during our worship services. The Alleluia Choir regularly performs in our annual Lessons and Carols.

  • For kids in 2nd grade through 5th grade we offer also on Wednesday evenings, the Messiah Choir. This ensemble takes the skills learned from the Alleluia Choir and expands the skill set to include: developing healthy vocal technique, part singing, and community building. Community building is a huge priority for this ensemble. Children can learn many life skills by being involved in an musical ensemble. This ensemble sings in church regularly, plays a very important role for Lessons and Carols and most are involved in our annual Children’s musical which happens during our winter months.

  • For our kids 6th grade through high school we offer Chor Spiritus. The ensemble meets on Sunday’s at 11:30 a.m. This ensemble is for kids who have significant musical background, or, who are involved in their music programs at their schools. Advanced music is performed. The priority for this ensemble is to begin the process of worship leading, singing with a mature (yet age appropriate) vocal technique. Chor Spiritus sings once a month during the school year. They are involved in Lessons and Carols, and provide special music throughout the year.

Adult Music Opportunities

  • Saturday Night Worship Band. This ensemble leads worship during our Saturday evening worship service. Guitar, Bass, Keyboard, and vocals are used on a regular basis. The ensemble rehearses one hour prior to worship service, with occasional rehearsals for special worship experiences. If you are interested, please contact Dr. Johnson.

  • The Chancel Choir is the flagship ensemble for the music ministry. This ensemble rehearses on Wednesday evenings and sings bi-weekly at both our services. One does not need to know how to read music but it is helpful! The priority is singing many different genres of music from traditional to contemporary. We prioritize healthy singing techniques and being in community. Beyond weekly services the Chancel Choir regularly performs in the Soli Deo Musica Concert Series, Lessons and Carols, and other celebrations through the church year.

  • Jubilate Bell Choir. This ensemble meets on Tuesday evenings. For membership information please contact Dr. Johnson. Due to the nature of handbell technique you must be able to read music. Jubilate plays monthly through the school year along with Lessons and Carols, and other festival celebrations.
