Youth Fellowship and Ministry Events

Our youth ministry program at Faith provides young people the opportunity to undertake mission trips, attend national conventions and enjoy Christian fellowship with others in settings that are different from the everyday routine.

2011 Ski Trip

Join the Faith Lutheran youth group, SHYG, on a trip to the slopes in Minnesota, February 19–20, 2011. If you’re currently in high school, securing your spot is simple: Carefully read all of the information in the brochure (downloadable below), fill out the Registration Form and return both the form and a $50 deposit to Jake Bouma by February 2.

The Spaghetti Dinner & Silent Auction needs YOU!

Our youth, parents, and volunteers continue to work on the Spaghetti Dinner & Silent Auction scheduled for February 27, 2011, but we need YOUR help! Part of what makes our auction so successful is the willingness of the congregation to donate items to be auctioned. We've had people donate woodwork, art, skilled labor, gift certificates, and so on. Prayerfully consider how your passions and blessings can bless our youth ministry by donating new or like-new items and/or services to the auction. Forms are available on the bulletin board in the entryway and on the website. Thanks for your support!

Hope Ministries Orientation

Youth and Family Ministries would like to invite all 7th through 12th Graders to an orientation on homelessness and Hope Ministries here in Des Moines. This will include a tour of the Bethel Mission facility (the largest emergency men's shelter in the State of Iowa) on Saturday, February 26, leaving from Faith at 3:30 and returning about 5:30 p.m. A second orientation opportunity is being offered on Sunday, March 27, leaving Faith at 4:30 and returning about 7:00 p.m. The March date will allow participants to attend a chapel service too. Please sign-up on the youth board. Parents are invited to attend.
