Melinda Littler
Director of Children and Family Ministry
Biography:
First and foremost I am a child of GOD! As a child of God, I have been given many gifts that I use everyday as the Director of Children and Family ministry at Faith Lutheran Church. I was blessed with my gifts in my baptism at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Martensdale, Iowa. I grew up in a long time Lutheran household on a farm with one sister and two loving parents.
As a youth, I traveled on mission trips to Mexico and spent my summers as a camper and camp counselor at some wonderful Bible camps. I went to school at the University of Northern Colorado to pursue a degree in Elementary Education and Speech Communication. After graduation, I taught for two years in Colorado and five years for the West Des Moines school district.
When my second son was born, I had the opportunity to discontinue full-time teaching and be home with my children. However that only lasted a year, because a part-time Early Childhood Ministry position came open at Faith. I was in that position for 5 years until my current position as director.
I love my job, because I get to teach about God, write lessons about God, pray with children to God, talk to members about God, build relationships with others on God, be creative for God’s glory and most of all lead others to God! I feel so blessed using all of the gifts I was blessed with in my baptism. I look forward to working with your family here at Faith Lutheran Church!
