Soli deo Musica
The people of Faith Lutheran Church welcome you to the 19th year of our Artist Series, Soli deo Musica. With a strong musical heritage and proclamation of the Gospel, we invite you to be a part of nearly two decades of music and the arts. We believe our series is an important ministry to the community at large and one of the ways which we can proclaim the richness of our faith and heritage. As our congregation celebrates 25 years of ministry together....the 2009-2010 Soli deo Musica season reflects our Traditions of Faith, with an opening organ recital and hymn festival featuring organist, Mark Babcock and the choirs of Faith Lutheran Church and Grand View University. The season continues to offer superb vocal and instrumental performances by local and touring artists throughout the year. We also have opened our series to explore the richness of our country's heritage as well...with special blue grass and gospel music, culinary and folk arts, the laughter of the American circus and celebration of women in music. We believe music and art are gifts to be shared....they are an expression of a deeper relationship with our maker and bring us closer to God.
Psalm 98 tells us to "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord...". The music and art for our 2009-2010 season does just that, and we are excited about both the quality and variety of this year's offerings! Just as Christ opens his arms in the spirit of faith and healing, we welcome you, and look forward to sharing th joyful sounds and gifts of Soli deo Musica!
